It is critical to understand when and how various fees will be charged to you when you start any debt settlement program.  The fee structure alone, more than any other factor, will tell you whether you are dealing with a reputable company.  In the debt settlement industry, that is the difference between finding someone to guide you throught these difficult times to a successful resolution, and another program that may be a scam.  Be very careful of any company that charges large up front fees, regardless of success, such as those that charge a percentage of total debt owed.  Once these companies get their money, they have little to no incentive to work hard for you.  Many of the debt settlement scams you read about are companies that get paid up front, then they disappear.

The only up front fee we charge is $100 per creditor.  This is to set up the file and to take the phone calls from that creditor which would normally go to you.
